Red Galaxy Snowflake

The Red Galaxy Snowflake Shrimp is a beautiful selectively bred freshwater shrimp from the Caridina genus, especially valued by aquarium enthusiasts for its striking red-and-white appearance. It usually has a rich red body covered with pale or translucent markings that resemble stars, galaxy patterns, or snowflakes. Each shrimp can display a unique combination of colors and patterns, making them highly desirable in specialty shrimp aquariums.

These shrimp are peaceful, small scavengers that typically grow to about 2–3 centimeters long. They feed on algae, biofilm, microorganisms, and high-quality shrimp food. Red Galaxy Snowflakes thrive in mature aquariums with clean, soft, slightly acidic water and stable parameters. Moss, driftwood, rocks, and leaf litter provide useful grazing areas and hiding places.

Because Caridina shrimp are sensitive to sudden changes, regular maintenance and careful acclimation are important. They should be kept with calm, small tank mates or in a species-only aquarium. With excellent water quality and suitable conditions, they may breed successfully and produce colorful offspring with varied patterns.
