The Pure Red Line (PRL) is a premium, selectively bred variety of the Crystal Red Shrimp (Caridina cf. cantonensis). Originating from master breeders in Japan, they are highly prized for their striking candy-cane look and exceptional genetic purity.
Key Characteristics
Intense Coloration: They feature solid, opaque white patches contrasted against a deep, vibrant red body. High-grade specimens even have solid red or white legs.
Genetic Purity: Unlike standard Crystal Reds, PRLs are bred strictly within a red lineage. They contain zero black or golden genes, meaning they will only ever produce red and white offspring.
Sensitive Nature: Like the Pure Black Line, they require expert care. They need stable, soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–6.8), an active soil substrate, and a cool temperature around 20–24°C
